Wilson-Cobb History and Genealogy Research Library

The Wilson-Cobb History and genealogy Research Library is a special collection, standalone library that was established in April 1999 to serve Roswell, New Mexico and the surrounding communities.

The library offers access to more than 7,000 books, 12,000 periodicals, and the free use of the library''s subscriptions to Ancestry.com, Fold3.com and Newspapers.com on our computers with high speed Internet access. Experienced volunteers are available to help locate materials, or to get started using the computer subscriptions.

Memberships, grants, charitable donations from individuals and fundraisers support the library.

Wilson-Cobb Library's
Annual Workshop

Our venue for the annual workshop is not available this year due to the pandemic. We polled our membership to explore whether we should offer a virtual workshop. Members voted not to offer a webinar.

R.I.P.
Imogene Rowin Lee, 1925-2021

Imogene made enormous contributions to the genealogy community. She was office manager for the Wilson-Cobb History and Genealogy Library for several years, and was always ready with mini classes for new researchers visiting the library. Wise, witty Imogene will always hold a place in our hearts.

Patricia Marie Balok, 1943-2021

Pat was president of the Wilson-Cobb Board and the Roswell Genealogical Society for many years. Whenever help was needed, Pat was there. She was an experienced genealogist who contributed immensely to the genealogy community. Pat’s legacy example of service is her gift to us.

Laura Ruth (Corn) Nelson, 1932-2021 Laura was an active member of the Roswell Genealogical Society (RGS), a member of the Wilson-Cobb Board, and an expert genealogist who presented a variety of programs to RGS members. She graciously shared her skills with all of us. We will treasure the memories of Laura’s courage and the knowledge she shared with us.
